Brooklyn HeightsGrand townhouses built by New York's 19th-century elites line shaded streets in Brooklyn Heights, which commands a bluff that overlooks the East River and Manhattan's Financial District. An upscale commercial area bustles with well-heeled shoppers, but the focus here is on the broad promenade that affords sweeping views of Manhattan and New York Harbor.
