GreenpointHistorically a Polish enclave, Greenpoint forms the northwestern border of Brooklyn with the East River and the northern edge of Queens. The neighborhood is a mixed residential and industrial community featuring a commercial district along the main drag of Manhattan Ave, and shares the adjacent McCarren Park with its southern neighbor, Williamsburg. Recent decades have resulted in more diversity within Greenpoint's demographics, as recent waves of inhabitants have been drawn to the picturesque tree-lined streets, and family oriented disposition. Not to mention the still affordable rents. If yr looking for direct access to Manhattan, you won't find it here, but a subway transfer or a ferry ride will do the trick. |
