TriBeCa

Deriving its name from the triangular shape of the block between Church St. and Broadway just south of Canal, the 'TRiangle BElow CAnal' began as an industrial district. During the 60's and 70's artists flocked to the neighborhood to inhabit its many abandoned warehouses. In a situation similar to that of SoHo, the residents organized and successfully pushed for mixed-use zoning. The result is a remarkable contrast of relaxed loft living and upscale dining in one of Manhattan's most sought after neighborhoods.

TriBeCa faced trouble in the post-9/11 real estate market. However, its residents united once again and successfully revived the neighborhood they call home. TriBeCa is currently Manhattan's most expensive neighborhood and, according to Forbes Magazine, home to the 12th most expensive zip code in the United States. Subsequently, TriBeCa has become a haven for celebrities and socialites. Behind TriBeCa's unassuming facades lay some of NYC's most beautiful living spaces. Highlights: The Tribeca Film Festival
