Queens

Geographically the largest borough of NYC, Queens is also considered the most ethnically diverse county in the United States (arguably the world). Queens has come a long way [baby] since it's original inception as a NYC borough from rapidly urbanizing farmland, to hosting large communities of people from all over the world, as well as the NYC Mets, the US Open, World Fairs, and the two NYC's airports: JFK and LaGuardia.

The neighborhoods span the spectrum from urban residential/industrial in the western region towards Manhattan, and suburban as you head further east towards Long Island. The southwestern most neighborhood of Long Island City (LIC) serves as the borough's industrial and commercial sector, though major rezoning has opened the door for large scale residential development.

Like it's neighbor to the south (Brooklyn), Queens has also seen an influx of Manhattanites seeking to escape the rising tide of rents for refuge in an affordable, convenient and exceedingly international area of the city. And it usually goes, new development is right on their heels.
