WoodsideNestled between Sunnyside and Jackson Heights, Woodside continues Queens' legacy of extreme ethnic diversity and residential community. A blanket of quiet residential blocks sprouting off the bustling commercial strip of Roosevelt Ave, Woodside was once home to the largest Irish immigrant population in the country. As immigrants from all over the world have settled in the neighborhood - most notably Asian, South Asian and Latino - Woodside still maintains a strong Irish presence. Access to the neighborhood is easy by either car or train, with the 7 train, the Long Island Railroad, and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway(BQE) all connecting Woodside to the surrounding regions. |
